STS-01 “Gavel”
Gavels are multi-mission 10kt nuclear missiles, capable of anti-capital, anti-strikecraft, and anti-missile duties. It can operate in laser guided, electro-optical, semi-active, and active radar modes, depending on which seeker is installed.
Design
The Gavel represents the first attempt at a standardized missile and modular launch system for all ICASF starships. The missile is armed with a W2 10kt pure fission nuclear warhead and carries about 3km/s dV for manoeuvering and accelerating. With its methane nuclear thermal rocket, it can accelerate at approximately 5gs.
Usage
The STS-01 can be installed on every starship, from the smallest strikecraft to the largest capital ship in the ICASF. It can be launched via the PY-1 missile turret, the 1T12R EM-C Torpedo-Coilgun system, or the VBS-53 vertical launch system.
Production
With massive automated factories producing millions of STS-01 a month, the Gavel is one of the cheapest and most prevalent nuclear capable weapons within human space.
