STS-02 “Hammer”
STS-02 Hammers are long range 4Mt nuclear missiles used in orbital bombardment, anti-capital, and anti-station roles.
Design
The Hammer is the largest standardized nuclear missile in the ICASF arsenal. With a W1 4Mt thermonuclear warhead, the missile offers anti-capital capabilities. However, the missile is almost 40 times more expensive than the STS-01 and about 7 times as heavy. This heavily impacts how many Hammers a ship can carry compared to other ship to ship missiles.
Usage
Due to their niche role, cost, and weight, they are much rarer to see out and about in the field. ICASF torpedo boats and escort destroyers, however, feature the Hammer as their main weapon, with several reloadable torpedo tubes distributed throughout the ships. They are much simpler and require almost no energy to use compared to the particle beam weaponry heavier ships field.
