The Crucible
The Crucible is a dyson swarm assembled around Sol between 2300 and 2500 with an orbit between the historical orbit of Mercury and present day Venus. The swarm itself incorporates billions of solar collectors, energy accumulation facilities, energy beaming units, and particle accelerators. The Crucible is capable of powering the entire Sol system by itself ten thousand times over. However, much of its energy is used in its particle accelerators to create rare heavy elements, antimatter, and complex metamaterials. In dire situations, The Crucible can also be used as a megastructure scale superweapon in its beam configuration.
